And then it was over! And I was sad. We sat around a little to let the crowd thin out. Then Blane and I headed home and I was pretty much so tired I was delirious. I took the wrong exit like, five times.

My calf is so sore today. I was jumping around and dancing like a fool all night. And my ears still aren't quite the same. I've been listening to the Bigger Light's EP all day. It is seriously so good. I'm thinking I might upload a song or two so you guys can see just how amazing they are and then you can buy their ep online! Seriously, I'm pretty sure those kids are living on two tacos for 99 cents deals. They could use all the help they can get. And their music is so good if you're into the pop-punk/rock thing.

Anyway, I was going to send Lauren a link to download Hold On Tight but I can't find one that works and my copy isn't great quality. And I think one of the links I tried gave me a computer virus. Sucks.

Speaking of Hey Monday, I've spent all night making icons! I just posted them. I'm pretty happy with how they came out. Now to crosspost them EVERYWHERE. Sorry if they pop up on your flist a couple of times.

I've spent all day doing laundry and watching Mytbusters. So it's been a good day. :)

Strike that, that website DEFINITELY gave me a vrius. Fantastic. Firefox is flipping out. I'm using IE now, since I can't get firefox to work at all. Plus when I try to run CCleaner it gets to internet history and stops working. That's just great. I'm running a virus scan now, but it's going pretty slow. It's been at 4% for the past 10 minutes. >:(

Today was pretty cool, but now I am SO TIRED OH MY GOD. I was going to go in to what I did today, but ehhhh. Maybe later.

So, Panic stuff. Still feeling okay about the split. That demo has pretty much confirmed that I will mostly like not be that into Spencer and Brendon's new stuff. Granted, it's a demo and only a 30 second clip, so that's nothing to set your watch by. It did remind me very much of Fever and we all know my feelings on that album. I really can't wait to see Ryan and Jon's stuff. In any case, I still think they're all pretty awesome and will read thousands upon thousands of words of them being ridiculous boys ridiculously in love.

Other fandom stuff. That Hurt/Comfort fic challenge prompt post is pretty much the best thing ever. I'm positive my requests won't be filled because they're Hey Monday and FOB, but who knows! There are so many awesome prompts on there. I can't wait to see what gets written.

I redid my layout! Kept the same layout, actually, just changed the banner and background color. Lost the stripes. I like it, very minimal. Pete and Ashlee with a Hey Monday lyric. I know it's a little creepy because it's a paparazzo shot, but it's so cute! ...that's not an excuse, is it? :(

Okay, so, looks like I called that one wrong. I'm a little sad, but mostly excited for new music. I'm especially excited to see what Ryan and Jon come up with. Pete said something about the new Panic music being more like Fever and let's be honest, I kind of hated Fever. I hated Fever a lot. I only really liked two of the songs, and I got sick of I Write Sins pretty quickly. I'm not writing it off and you can bet I'll be downloading the new album, but I'm assuming Ryan and Jon's music will be more Pretty. Odd. style and since I LOVED that album... I expect I'll like that more.

In other news, ATL are creeps and I have a ticket to see Hey Monday! I printed it out and taped it to my closet. Lauren and I will be spending the day in Bmore. Probably get some lunch and then head down to Ottobar which is reportedly where all the hipsters hang out. I know, I know, I'm shocked too. YAY HEY MONDAY. I should probably send Lauren a copy of the cd just in case she wants to hear the music before we go. She already looked up the bands on Myspace and seems pretty excited. ♥Friends♥

Tomorrow is the first day of my internship. Expect at least one more freaked out lj post before the night is over.

Nik Kristof appears on The Colbert Report and talks about pollution in our water, and how it's effecting the wildlife and us. In parts of the Potomac River (you know, in my city), 100% of Small Mouth Bass males also carry eggs. That is not normal. And it's not just the fish and the amphibians, they're seeing it in humans now too.

Nik Kristof is an especially intelligent and talented writer for the New York Times. He writes some of the best articles on Sudan and on the status of women in developing countries. He wrote a really great series about women in Haiti. He also writes a lot on health issues. Check out his twitter and his webpage for the New York Times. I cannot recommend reading this guy's work enough. He's smart, funny, and writes on really important topics.

SERIOUSLY, I LOL'D. I've been watching FOB videos all night, bookmarking my favorites for later. For some reason the third part of the Behind The Scenes for 16 Candles is missing from Youtube. I am really sad we still haven't seen all the footage for that video. Is Joe a vampire? Inquiring minds want to know, Pete Wentz.

Anyway, in real life news. Today Blane and I got up ridiculously early and practiced my commute. It doesn't take nearly as long as i feared it would. Traffic looks like it'll be a problem and it's going to cost an arm and a leg, but it's not too bad. We also walked around the Natural History Museum, Museum of National History, and the Folk Festival.

My feet huuuuurt man. Blisters galore.

In conclusion, I love DC and Joe Trohman.

So Bandom is currently embroiled in a wank about warnings. Long story short - people are arguing about whether authors should warn for material (like dub-con) that might trigger someone. For a more detailed run down complete with links to all the relevant posts, see here.

I haven't said anything for a few reasons. One, I don't have anything to add to the conversation, really. There have been people far more eloquent than I saying all the right things. Secondly, I really didn't think the wank would last this long or get this big. (yeah yeah, I know, how is my first day in fandom going and all that.) It's just that to me this seems like a no brainer. I can't understand why people aren't getting this very simple concept.

If your story contains something that is a common trigger (like rape, assault, dub-con) then you put up a warning. Because that is just common fucking decency. If it's so important that you keep the twist a secret or whatever, then do white font or put it behind a cut. People who don't have these triggers will more than likely pass it up and will go on unspoiled. At least you're giving people the option to be informed before, unintentionally or not, you cause someone to be hurt.

I'm not going to even get into the blaming the victim that's going on in some of those posts. That's a whole other pickle that is rage inducing and I've mostly been skimming those. It makes me too upset and there's no way for me to really work that anger off at the moment.

So, in conclusion, don't be a douche nozzle. Good day, folks.
